The Blog Connection

What Is A Blog?

A Blog stands for Web Log. Since its introduction a short while ago, people started to refer to this phenomenon in its short form.

A blog is usually an electronic (digital) writing that express's a writers' thoughts or opinions. There are no hard and fast rules as to the format of the writing and that freedom of style & form has been instrumental in the ever-growing popularity of a blog.

A blog can be a simple diary of a persons' daily activities and kept as private as its hard covered, hand written counterpart.

Today, however, we think of blogs as written pieces of work (personal thoughts) that are made electronically (using the Internet). Many blogs are made with the intent of being read by anyone who might have an interest in the subject matter. It’s a new and effective way to communicate with the masses.

Since this site is about luxury, and "freedom of speech" is an important form of luxury, this open ended "digital soap box" was deemed appropriate for our inclusion here at African-American-Expo.com.

We plan to introduce you to a variety of “thinkers” who have one or more thoughts to share with you. Some will share their name and likeness and others will remain anonymous.

In either case, make note that these opinions are strictly the opinions of the writers.

You may agree or disagree with their points of view and you’ll have a way to express those feelings by adding your own comments to the original post.

Our first blog is being presented by Larry Bryant. Mr. Bryant hails from Atlanta, Georgia and works hard in his current profession as a Public Health Researcher/Consultant.

He obtained his Masters Degree from Emory University and is now studying for his PhD at the University of Georgia.

Mr. Bryant is an intelligent and articulate black man who has some strong opinions on the state of human sexuality. You may read his blog by clicking on below link.

Sexual Identity and the Down Low

Most of the books I read are technical manuals because I spend a disproportionate amount of time working on computers.

Even "I" know that you have to take a break every now and then. One way that I manage to have the best of both worlds is to find something that I enjoy that "just happens to be", on the computer.

One of those things I found is a new eBook titled "How To Be Black Only On Weekends" by Tom Williams. It's an entertaining and relevant piece of afrocentric literature that will make most of you feel right at home.

Apparently there's some buzz about the book and a possible movie deal. Read more about it in the author's blog:
